Take me back to the West Indies!

I just had a fantastic week shooting in St Kitts with Calling Brands for an amazing new eco resort due to open up there later this year. It was a week filled with sun, sea, laughs, rain forests, lots of monkeys and good people! Thank you to One Production for sending me.

Henrik Purienne

Cape Town based photographer Henrik Purienne has the most lovely 70s / 80s feel to his work and is best known as the photographer behind the American Apparel ads.

Katie Scott

I love these beautiful illustrations by Katie Scott. Curiosities, alchemic symbolism, vintage psychedelic scientific drawings, mythical creatures… So many of my favourite things!

Cape Town

I have spent the last 2 weeks shooting in Cape Town with Petra van Raaij for McCann. Amazing scenery, weather, food and people! Take me back!

Carly Waito

Geology and the beauty of the natural world has had a grip on me from an early age. As a child I would save my pocket money in wait for the annual arts and crafts fair to come to the town where I lived, and I would spend it all on little crystals. The polarity of science and geometry, and the sacred mysticism of crystals fascinates me now as it did then.

Carly Waito’s work focuses on geology and geometry, and ideas of wonder and curiosity- and here are some of her highly realistic oil paintings…

Anton Corbijn - Portraiture

“ the democratising of photography means it is more important than ever to find a way to make something meaningful within the jungle of images that surround us continuously. these days photography as a medium is stronger than ever yet it has to fight not to lose its impact. interesting times.” Anton Corbijn - Dutch photographer, music video director and film director.

Apartamento

An interiors magazine with a difference… this  bi-annual publication steers clear of the usual tidy minimalism of interior magazines and showcases homes and apartments in a completely natural way. It features the homes and lives of creative individuals, both established and emerging, from all over the world, understanding interior design as a way of personal expression.

Finding Charlie

Charlie Brophy is a very young photographer based in Australia - barely out of college. I have seen her body of personal work grow over the last few years and she is a very talented girl indeed! Her work tends to centre around portraiture, but I like her observational material too. These are some shots taken while in India with her friends. They have inspired me to take another trip to India later this year…

Daniel Kornrumpf - Embroidery Artist

These embroidery portraits by US based Daniel Kornrumpf are amazing. I came across him while searching for embroidery artists for 101 London.  The colour and detail are phenomenal. Being hand stitched, I dread to think how long these take! He must be one patient man!

SHOWstudio tumblr

SHOWstudio’s tumblr is sucking up a lot of my time lately! Various creative types from the fashion and art world take over and curate a series of images over the space of a week each and every month, allowing us to take a peek into their minds. My favourite curation so far is that that of model Liberty Ross, and below are a few of the images she featured during her session.
